Who is the Curvaceous Cutie?

I am Megan Cochran and I am 31 years old. I grew up in the Suburbs of Chicago . I have also lived in St. Louis, Boise, and I now live in a small town in Utah called Eagle Mountain. I have a Cosmetology Degree and A Bachelor's of Arts in History from Boise State University. I unfortunately found my passion for food  later then most. I was almost done with my History degree when I realized that what I really wanted to do was to cook and either own my own restaurant or  a catering business. I am also slowly compiling recipes to publish my own cook book some day under the name the "Curvaceous Cutie".

I am not skinny. I have never been skinny at my largest I topped the scales at 400lbs in 2001. Funny part was I did not like to cook and really I did not like to eat. I just ate and obviously I ATE a lot! I had gastric bypass in October of 2001 and by July of 2002 I weighed 240. You do the math. That is correct. I had lost 160lbs in less then 10 months. I had to relearn how to eat like a baby would. Contrary to what you have heard or thought there is really nothing "easy" about gastric bypass or loosing weight in general. By the time I had my second daughter I was down to 205. Yes folks that is almost 200lbs that I had lost. That last 40 of it however had nothing to do with the gastric bypass. Getting pregnant twice threw that one out the window. I lost that 40lbs by working my butt off. Unfortunately in order to get there and keep it off I would only eat 3 days a week. On the days I worked at the restaurant I served at I never ate... Not healthy. Over the past 6 years I have put on weight and I am working on getting some of it off but I will be very happy at a size 14. I LOVE TO COOK! "Never trust a skinny cook".

I hope you will enjoy my blog and learn from it!
